The Trouble With Talc

By Sally Blossom 1 month ago 25 Views No comments

Talc has been used by women for ages. It can be found in makeup, food and YOUR commercial deodorant. Here are the top facts you need to know about Talc.

1. Talc is used to absorb moisture and to help products glide on easily by making them soft and smooth.

2.Talc has also been linked to Ovarian cancer and other health risks such as mucous membrane and lung damage in babies, aggravation of asthma and allergic skin reactions.

3. In 2003, a review of 16 studies in which there were over 11,000 women were studied and it found a 33 percent higher risk of ovarian cancer among women who used talc. The risk is even higher in African American Women.

4. Results of studies as recently as May 2017 confirm the 20-24 percent higher risk of developing ovarian cancer in women who regularly use talc.

5. As far back as 1971, the concern from using talc and ovarian cancer has been raised but not restricted or banned from use, as it is in Europe.

6. In the past year, juries have awarded damages totaling well over 100 million dollars for women who used talc and were diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

With all this information, it is time to think about what we are putting on under our arms. 26 seconds is all it takes for what we put on our skin to be absorbed into our bloodstream. Why risk your health everyday? Evelyn Kay has no toxic chemicals and NO TALC.

2 of the Many Chemicals Banned in Europe That Are Hiding In Your Deodorant

By Sally Blossom 2 months ago 74 Views No comments

We posted a blog a few months back about toxic substances and chemicals that are banned in Europe but not here. Parabens and Phthalates are two of those substances that are banned or restricted in many other countries but not here. AND they are found in your commercial deodorant! Why do these two toxic substances cause concern and alarm to the point they are restricted in at least 28 other countries but not here in the US?

Parabens are used a preservative substance in beauty products, including your deodorant. Parabens are also endocrine disruptors: this means they act like estrogen in the body. This disruption has been linked to early puberty and hormonal cancers such as ovarian and cervical cancer. Parabens have also been found in almost all breast cancer tissue.

Phthalates are also everywhere. They can be found in plastic packaging and in fragrance for beauty products and your deodorant. Phthalates are found in all chemically made fragrances and may not be listed as phthalates specifically, but rather listed as "fragrance" or not at all. Phthalates have been linked to breast cancer, asthma, ADHD, neurological development issues, low IQ and reproductive issues.

These are just two of the toxic substances found in your commercial deodorant that other countries find dangerous enough to restrict or ban. Until the US follows their lead, we need to take charge of our own health and make better choices. Evelyn Kay can help. Our deodorant is 100% natural, safe, and free from toxic chemicals.
